RETAINED TESTICLES

RETAINED TESTICLES: Mooglee's castration this week was a much bigger operation than for most dogs. Testicles begin their journey deep inside the abdomen; then up to two weeks after birth, they travel outside to the (cooler) scrotum. Only one of Mooglees testicles had descended, so the warm internal temperature put it at risk of developing cancer. Great news, however. Mooglee's testicles were clear of cancer and castrating him also reduces his risk of future painful prostate problems and anal tumours, both of which are testosterone related. Yippee for Mooglee!!! And he won't get fat as Sandy and Christoph will cut down the amount of food he has once he's fully recovered.
